Subconsciously

Kingdom Of Heaven Mailman - Robert Hunter

What are our hidden, underlying actions that aren’t seen as the destructive behaviors that they are? You know, the things we all do that we know we shouldn’t do, but do them anyways, “subconsciously”, while believing that what is bad is good because it just feels so right! We spend lots of time destroying ourselves, slowly, believing that the benefits are worth the ignorance, ignoring the negative end result for the satisfaction of the moment. Hindsight is always perfect vision, but hindsight is hindsight and isn’t available to provide the clearest vision for the present, which is where wisdom comes in. If only we would do today what we shouldn’t put off till tomorrow, when it comes to our obedience to God. A bad habit begins by giving in to a destructive thing that feels like a fix to a problem that we don’t want to be patient in for the real fix to arrive. Impatience breeds stupidity and stupidity leads to bad decision making, and bad decision making builds a lifestyle that we think is the right thing until it boxes us in, and then find that there’s no easy way out. If only we would be the best friend to ourselves that isn’t about spoiling ourselves, and all about managing ourselves into a balanced ecosystem of proper pressure and right action. Aaahh, righteousness, the word above all other words that stakes a claim to our reputation that bleeds more than it nourishes, and judges others to gain more righteousness. If righteousness was something that we could define in our own personal way, then truly, there are more righteous folk than unrighteous. But, righteousness is like gravity, and its definition comes from what we are not able to define on our own, it’s defined outside of humanity by what is much bigger than us.. God Himself. Reading Paul’s rhetorical hamster wheel theology of man’s dilemma in humanity, while being called to spirituality, is perfectly descriptive of our inability to do as God asks us to do without a relationship with Christ, here in Romans 7:15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.” ¿Did you get that? We are evil hearted with good intentions and need Jesus to fight back the evil and live for God, by the power of His Holy Spirit. If we’re not soaking our minds in His word, our ability to overcome evil in our lives is severely compromised. Father, thank You for Your Word! In Christ’s name, Amen
